The bubbles attach to the particulate matter, and the buoyant force of the combined particle and gas bubbles is great enough to cause the particle to rise to the surface.
Flotation circuits are typically comprised of rougher, scavenger and cleaner flotation banks. Rougher and scavenger banks are focused on recovery and thus provide maximum residence time. Rougher banks can be large with the number of cells being 5 or greater.
